This is a remanufactured OEM 4L80E direct clutch housing with new Borg Warner 34 element sprag, OEM outer race, retainer and spiral lock ring.
This assembly may be also retro-fit to the GM TH400. Assembly accepts 6 OEM thickness TH400 direct clutches and 6 OEM .090" thick steel plates. The taller intermediate clutch outer race will accept 4 OEM thickness 4L80E intermediate clutch and steel plates and OEM 4L80E .375" thick intermediate clutch backing plate in place of the OEM TH400 intermediate clutch pack components if upgrade is required. Housing includes the checkball, eliminating the need to source the obsolete direct clutch piston with checkball. Assembled with a new premium Borg Warner 34 element sprag and end bearings. The retaining plate is secured with an upgraded spiral-lock ring that eliminates snap ring fly off at high rpm. All housings are fully inspected, cleaned and polished.
